Crane Rail

The crane rail is a crane running route laid by rails, which ensures that the crane runs along the prescribed route and transmits the wheel pressure to the foundation. Crane rail can be divided into light rail type (P) and heavy rail type (QU). Small tonnage, medium tonnage crane rail uses P-type railroad rail, large tonnage gantry crane rail uses QU type crane special rail or square rail.

Crane Rail Classification and Selection

Crane rail have special rail, railway track, square rail and p-type rail, square rail wear to the wheel is relatively large, and now rarely used. Most of the crane trolley uses P type crane rail. Crane track selection as the following table:

Crane rail specification

Crane Rail Fixation

The crane's trolley track must be fixed on the travel beam, the trolley track fixed on the main beam. When the crane(overhead crane or gantry crane) is in operation, the crane track cannot move laterally and longitudinally, and the crane track must be easy to adjust.

The fixed models of crane rails on the main beam are as follows:

  • Diagram a uses the straight seam welding, is not detachable structure. Crane track section stress can be included in the main girder stress, increase the bearing strength of girder, this crane rail connection mode is used for trolley track that working level under the M5.
  • Diagram b is the most commonly used fixed method in China. It is convenient to assemble, but it is difficult to disassemble.
  • C and d diagrams are applicable to the organization of M6, M7 and M8 at work level.
  • e and f diagrams are used for screw connection, for special cases where the bottom is not easy to bolt.
  • The g diagram is 3-6mm rubber at the bottom of the crane track, which can reduce the impact.
  • H diagram is a fixed method of circular rail.
  • I diagram is the way of the large car track fixed to the crane rail beam.
