Case Study: Seamless Installation of a 150-Ton Double Girder Bridge Crane in Paraguay

Introduction

Dongqi Crane continues to expand its global footprint, delivering robust lifting solutions to industries worldwide. Our latest overseas project showcases the successful installation and commissioning of a heavy-duty QDX-type double girder bridge crane at a factory in Paraguay. This project underscores our commitment to providing not only high-quality equipment but also comprehensive technical support, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup for our clients.

Project Overview

The centerpiece of this project is a QDX 150T Double Girder Bridge Crane, engineered for demanding industrial operations.

  • Key Specifications:
    • Capacity: 150 Tons
    • Span: 23 Meters
    • Lifting Height: 15 Meters
    • Power Supply: 380V, 50Hz, 3-Phase

This crane is designed to handle substantial loads with precision and reliability, becoming a critical asset for the client’s material handling and production processes.

On-the-Ground Expertise: The Installation Journey

A team of experienced Dongqi engineers traveled to Paraguay to oversee and assist with the entire installation process, which was completed within a planned 45-day timeframe. Their expertise was instrumental in ensuring accuracy, safety, and technical integrity.

Phase 1: Foundation & Main Girder Assembly
The installation began with the precise positioning and securing of the crane runway rails. Following this, the massive main girders—the primary load-bearing structures—were carefully hoisted and aligned onto the runway tracks. Our engineers worked closely with the local team to verify measurements and ensure perfect leveling, which is crucial for the crane’s smooth travel and long-term structural stability.

Phase 2: Hoisting Trolley & Mechanical Integration
Next, the hoisting trolley unit, comprising the powerful winch/motor system, wire ropes, and hook block, was meticulously installed onto the girders. This phase involved precise mechanical assembly, electrical pre-connections, and thorough checks of all moving parts to guarantee flawless vertical lifting and traversing motion across the span.

Phase 3: Electrical Systems & Final Assembly
The focus then shifted to the electrical integration. Our technicians connected the crane’s power systems, control panels, and safety devices, including limit switches and emergency stops. All wiring was meticulously routed and tested according to the specified 380V/50Hz/3P standard. Simultaneously, final structural components, walkways, and cab fittings were completed.

Phase 4: Testing & Commissioning
Prior to handover, the crane underwent a rigorous series of tests. These included no-load test runs, static load tests, and dynamic load tests up to 110% of the rated capacity to validate its performance, safety mechanisms, and operational smoothness under simulated working conditions.

A Collaborative Success

The successful completion of this project within the scheduled 45 days was a result of seamless collaboration between the dedicated Dongqi engineering team and our valued Paraguayan client. Our on-site support ensured that every technical detail was addressed, and the client’s team was fully familiarized with the crane’s operation and maintenance protocols.

Conclusion: A New Landmark in Operation

The newly installed 150-ton bridge crane now stands as a pillar of efficiency within the client’s factory, ready to empower their production capabilities. This project exemplifies Dongqi Crane’s end-to-end service model—from custom manufacturing and global delivery to expert installation support—building trust and driving productivity for partners across the globe.
