Data from China Customs shows that in 2021, the UAE imported gantry cranes worth US$290,000 from China. Compared with the total import value of various types of cranes of US$58.06 million, the import value of gantry cranes is insignificant. In 2020, the import value of gantry cranes was US$1.979 million. In terms of trade data between the two countries, China is the UAE's largest trading partner in 2021, accounting for 11.7% of the UAE's total foreign trade. The non-oil trade between the two countries reached AED212 billion, an increase of 27%. For the anomalous phenomenon of increasing trade volume but decreasing gantry crane imports, we cannot predict the changes in the UAE crane market for the time being.
