Hong Kong International Terminals (HIT) has signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Technology Corporation (MHIMT) to install remote-control operations for the 29 RTGs at Container Terminal 9. The project is the first of its kind outside of Japón.
HIT expects the first batch of its control remoto RTGs to be in operation by the end of next year, with the full project expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2015.
Mitsubishi first provided HIT with grúas puente and subsequently rail-mounted grúas de pórtico nearly 25 years ago.
