Thiết bị nâng hạ nói chung hay cầu trục dầm đơn 3 tấn nói riêng trước khi được đưa vào sử dụng khai thác thì toàn cầu trục dầm đơn 3 tấn phải được kiểm định (thử tải) an toàn với các tiêu chí thuộc quy định thông tư số 54/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH: Quy trình kiểm định kỹ thuật an toàn thiết bị nâng kiểu cầu - QTKĐ: 09-2016/BLĐTBXH.
Quy trình kiểm định kỹ thuật an toàn thiết bị nâng kiểu cầu do cục An toàn lao động chủ trì biên soạn và được bàn hành kèm theo thông tư số 54/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH ngày 28/12/0216 của BLĐ TBXH.
Kiểm định cầu trục dầm đơn 3 tấn trải qua các bước sau:
Cầu trục 3 tấn dầm đơn được kiểm định với mức tải động (110% tải trọng danh nghĩa): 3.3 tấn để kiểm tra phanh của Pa lăng, kiểm tra tình trạng di chuyển ngang, di chuyển dọc của cầu trục, kiểm tra phanh trong quá trình di chuyển
Cầu trục nâng hạ với mức tải 3.3 tấn di chuyển ngang, dọc để kiểm tra công tắc hành trình di chuyển ngang, di chuyển dọc xem có hoạt động tốt không (có ngắt cẩu không)
Cầu trục kiểm định tải tĩnh (ở mức 125% tải trọng danh nghĩa): 3.75 tấn để kiểm tra phanh của Pa lăng, kiểm tra sức chịu đựng của kết cấu, kiểm tra độ võng của dầm chính cổng trục có đạt trong mức cho phép hay không, với bộ cầu trục trên được thiết kế với độ võng đạt 1/800 LK ở mức tải danh nghĩa.

Sau khi cầu trục 3 tấn được kiểm định xong ( trải qua các bước kiểm định thực tế) với sự chứng kiến của các bên liên quan như bên mua, bên bán, bên kiểm định, bên giám sát (nếu có).
Sẽ có biên bản ghi chép tại hiện trường: Biên bản này các biên liên quan sẽ ký (thể hiện việc kiểm định thực tế đã được diễn ra)
Kiểm định đạt sẽ được bên cơ quan kiểm định dán tem kiểm định trên móc cẩu hoặc thân cổng trục
Bên cơ quan kiểm định sẽ ra kết quả kiểm định và biên bản kiểm định để trả về đơn vị sử dụng vận hành cầu trục.
