Peru Crane Market Study 2022

In 2020, after two years of growth, the Peruvian crane market experienced a significant decline, with its value falling by -X% to X dollars. However, consumption continued to show a relatively flat trend pattern during the period under review. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2010, with an X% year-on-year increase. During the period under review, the market peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, consumption has been at lower levels.

In 2020, the number of cranes, mobile cranes exported from Peru dropped significantly to X units, a decrease of -X% compared to the previous year. Overall, however, exports recorded significant growth. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2013, with an X% year-on-year increase. During the period under review, exports peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports have remained at a low level.

Crane exports fell sharply to $X in 2020 by value. During the period under review, however, there was a significant increase in exports. The fastest growth in 2009, an increase of X% over the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, exports failed to regain momentum.

Chile (X units), Ecuador (X units) and Oman (X units) were the main destinations for Peruvian crane exports, together accounting for X% of total exports. Bolivia, Spain and Colombia are a little behind, and together form a further X from 2007 to 2020, with the largest increase in Spain, while the other leaders have seen more modest growth in shipments.

In terms of value, Chile ($X) emerged as the main foreign market for Peruvian crane exports, accounting for X% of total exports. In second place is Ecuador ($X) with X% of total exports. It is followed by Colombia with an X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the value to Chile has grown at an average annual rate of +X%. Exports to other major destinations recorded the following average annual export growth rates: Ecuador (+X% per annum) and Colombia (-X% per annum).

After two years of growth, in 2020, the supply of cranes, mobile cranes from abroad decreased by -X% to X units. But overall, imports rose slightly. The growth rate was most pronounced in 2008, when imports increased by X% over the previous year. During the period under review, imports reached a maximum of X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, imports have remained low.

Among the major suppliers, Poland recorded the most significant growth rate in purchases, while Imports by other leaders grew at a more modest pace.

Spain ($X), Italy ($X) and the United States ($X) are the largest crane suppliers to Peru by value, accounting for X% of total imports. Austria, Brazil, China, Germany, Chile and Poland lagged the major suppliers to a certain extent, with Poland having the highest growth in import value during the period under review, while purchasing as other leaders experienced a more moderate pace of growth.

By value, Peru's largest crane suppliers are Spain, Italy and the United States, which together account for 59% of total imports. Austria, Brazil, China, Germany, Chile and Poland are slightly behind with a combined 34%.

In terms of value, Chile emerged as the main foreign market for Peruvian crane exports, accounting for 58% of total exports. In second place is Ecuador, with 25% of total exports. It is followed by Colombia with a share of 9.8%.

In 2020, the average export price of cranes was USD 54,450 per unit, a decrease of -30.4% from the previous year.

In 2020, the average price of crane imports was US$32,953 per unit, up 18% from the previous year.
